Sixteen Kingdoms or Dynasties (304 – 409) 🤯ĭuring the period of the Sixteen Dynasties the north of China was invaded by nomadic tribes of the steppes. This resulted in an important exodus of the population from China to the south. The Jin would manage to survive one more century in the South of China, with capital near the current Nanking. The Jin dynasty long faced invasions from the north. As its first ruler, Qi Shi Huang Di, became the first emperor of China and founder of one of the major Chinese dynasties. It was the Qin dynasty that initiated the so-called “Imperial Era” in China. The Zhou were also the architects of the principle of the Mandate of Heaven as a form of justification of the power of Chinese rulers and, paradoxically, of dynastic change and the right to internal rebellions. With them, Taoism and Confucianism spread throughout China, in addition to other ideas and new religions, such as Moism and legalism. The Zhou dynasty contemplated the birth of the two most relevant Chinese thinkers and philosophers, Lao Tse and Confucius. Undoubtedly one of the most important dynasties in China. The most famous is that of Fu Hao, a warrior queen or princess of the time. This dynasty stood out for its warmongering, since hundreds of Shang burials with dozens of weapons and human sacrifices have been found. Da Ming planned a visit of only a day or two, but in calls to his distant wife, he keeps putting off his return, and the screenplay shows him gradually beginning to care for the family business and its destiny. The city wants to tear down the entire bathhouse district to make way for progress, and then what will happen to Liu, Er Ming, the customers and the crickets? "Shower," written, directed and edited by Zhang Yang, is a cozy and good-hearted comedy, not startlingly original but convincing in the way it shows the rhythms of the days and customs of the bathhouse, and how they gradually seduce the harassed and preoccupied visiting brother. Er Ming is proud when he's allowed to man the desk by the door, greeting clients, most of whom have presumably known him since he was a child.īut now Er Ming and Da Ming are both grown men, and Da Ming worries about what the future holds for his brother. They're like playmates, racing around the block and staging contests to see who can hold his breath the longest. The relationship between Liu and his retarded son is a close one.
